What is the shelf life of Kukui products?
All of our Kukui products have a shelf life of 14-16 months. On the bottom of each bottle is a Best Buy date. We are the manufacturer of the oil and the products, so when you purchase directly from us you are getting the freshest products available.  All of our products have tamper-evident packaging. We shrink wrap and use inside cap plugs on the Kukui oils and lotions and inner seal lids on Kukui moisturizing creams.  These inside cap plugs and seals also prevent leakage during shipping.  

Does Kukui Oil Stain Clothes? 

Using too much of any oil may stain your clothes.  Only a few drops should be gently massaged into the skin.  Allow a few minutes for the oil to be completely absorbed before getting dressed.  Kukui oil may be applied all-over your body or sparingly on patches of problem skin.

How to treat stains?
If staining does occur, you should soak item in a mixture of OxiClean®  and cool water. Be sure that the powder is completely dissolved. Check the instructions on the box for the materials that should not be treated in this way. Soak for 2 to 6 hours. Wash as normal.

How long will Kukui oil last? 
A little goes a long way.  If Kukui oil is used for certain skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis or to prevent stretch marks, a small dollop is all that’s needed. It is best to apply after bathing, while your skin is slightly damp. A 4 ounce bottle should last about 4 to 6 months.  Kukui oil is an excellent head-to-toe daily moisturizer.  It can be used like a hot oil treatment to condition hair and scalp and Kukui oil will soften rough elbows and heels. Kukui oil absorbs deeply into the skin and will last all day. Used as a daily dry skin moisturizer, a 4 oz. bottle of Kukui oil should last about 3 to 4 months. Store container tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

What is the shelf life of Macadamia oil?
Macadamia oil is a stable oil attributed to its profile of being 80% monounsaturated.  The expected shelf life is 20-24 months and it does not require refrigeration. Do not store in direct sunlight or next to the range.

What do I use Macadamia oil for?
Macadamia oil can be used to replace your regular cooking oils. Due to its viscosity it has an excellent coating property, so one can often reduce the amount of oil used in many cooking applications. The oils subtle and pleasant nutty flavor enhances most food combinations and provides an excellent flavor for vegetables, seafood, poultry and most baked goods.  in the same or even reduced quantity, due to its viscosity. It is excellent for stir frying, because it has a very high smoke point of 389°F. before it starts to degrade. 

Is Kukui oil safe for babies? 
Yes, Kukui oil is a natural product and it is safe for babies.  It helps “erase” cradlecap and soothes diaper rash.  Our co-worker’s baby had eczema and she used our shampoo as a baby wash and during the day she applied Kukui lotion when his skin looked dry.  Another mother uses Kukui oil for her child’s eczema during the day when he’s awake and sucking on his fingers and scratching. She used the doctor’s prescription ointment at night. Kukui oil is hypoallergenic and can be considered as a source rich in Omega-3s. Although we have not known of any allergic reactions to Kukui oil, it is still a good idea to apply a patch test to see if there is any signs of an allergic reaction the first time it is used.

How long does it take to get my order?  
We try our best to ship orders out usually within 24 hours (not including the weekend and holidays).   Delivery time takes between 3 to 5 days in the United States.  It doesn’t happen often, but on occasion we are out of some items and it might take 14 to 21 days to receive your items.  Just be assured that in these instances you are getting the freshest product available, since it is made to order.

Is Kukui oil organic?
We can assure you that the oil is natural, but as of now we can not certify that All of our oil is organic. Oils of Aloha has developed a new line of products based on our USDA Certified Organic Kukui Oil and Certified Organic SOLaleur. The oil has been certified under the USDA/NOP organic production, handling and processing guidelines. The certifying agent is International Certification Services, Inc.
